PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: March 30, 2026
Last Updated: March 30, 2026
1. WHO THIS POLICY COVERS
This Privacy Policy describes how KINNEY'S RIDESHARE SERVICE LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our website at kinneysrideshareservice.com, request or use vehicle rental services, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the "Services").
This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.
If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the Services.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect only the categories of personal information reasonably necessary to operate the Services, comply with law, and protect our legitimate interests. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Identifiers — such as name, email address, phone number, postal address, and government ID number when required for rental or verification.
- Financial information — such as payment card or bank details processed by our payment processors; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers when a processor tokenizes that data.
- Commercial / rental-related information — reservation and rental history, vehicle selected, rates, deposits, mileage, return status, and related records.
- Internet or network activity — device type, browser type, IP address, general location derived from IP, pages viewed, and similar technical data collected through cookies and similar technologies where we use them.
- Professional or employment-related information — only if you choose to provide it (for example, employer or rideshare platform affiliation) where relevant to a rental application.
- Sensitive personal information — only if applicable law defines data we collect (such as driver's license number) as sensitive and only to the extent necessary to provide the Services and comply with law.
- Communications — content of emails, calls, or messages you send us.
We do not use personal information for purposes that are incompatible with those described in this Policy without notice where required by law.
3. HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION
- Directly from you — when you submit forms, book or request rentals, create an account (if offered), contact us, or sign agreements.
- Automatically — when you browse our website or use online features, through cookies, logs, and similar technologies.
- From third parties — such as payment processors, identity or driving-record verification providers, insurers, or fraud-prevention vendors, solely where permitted by law and contract.
4. WHY WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We use personal information strictly for lawful purposes, including to:
- Provide, schedule, and administer vehicle rentals and reservations;
- Verify identity, eligibility, and driving credentials;
- Process payments, deposits, fees, and refunds;
- Communicate about your rental, account (if any), and customer support;
- Operate, secure, and improve our website and Services;
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or illegal activity;
- Comply with applicable law, court orders, and regulatory requests;
- Enforce our Terms and protect the rights, safety, and property of the Company, customers, and others;
- Maintain business records for accounting, tax, and litigation holds as required.
We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you for unrelated profiling, and we limit use of any sensitive categories to what is necessary and permitted by law.
5. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We disclose personal information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers and processors — vendors that assist us (e.g., hosting, payments, email, analytics, insurance, fleet/vehicle services) under written terms that restrict use to providing services to us.
- Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is required to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and continuity safeguards.
- With your direction or consent — when you ask us to share information or agree in writing.
We do not sell your personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as "sale" or "sharing" under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (including the California Privacy Rights Act) ("CCPA/CPRA"), unless we first update this Policy and provide any required notice and choice.
6. RETENTION
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes in this Policy, including satisfying legal, tax, accounting, insurance, and dispute requirements. Retention periods vary by data category and legal obligation. When retention is no longer required, we delete or de-identify information using commercially reasonable processes, subject to archival or backup systems that may retain copies for a limited period before overwrite.
7. SECURITY
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security; you use the Services at your own risk as to matters outside our reasonable control.
8. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS — YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA may grant you the following rights, subject to exceptions and verification:
- Right to know / access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you, and the categories of sources, purposes, and third parties.
- Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we collected, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale / sharing — we state above that we do not sell or share as defined under CCPA/CPRA; if our practices change, we will describe how to opt out.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — where applicable, to limit certain uses beyond what is necessary to provide the Services.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny services or charge different prices solely because you exercised CCPA/CPRA rights, except as permitted by law.
- Appeal — if we deny a request, you may appeal using the contact information below as required by applicable regulations.
How to submit requests: Email info@kinneysrideshareservice.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before fulfilling requests. You may designate an authorized agent in writing; we may require proof of agency and verify you directly.
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code § 1798.83) may grant additional disclosure rights regarding personal information disclosed to third parties for direct marketing; we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes as described in that statute.
9. OTHER U.S. STATES
Residents of certain other states may have similar privacy rights under applicable state law. Submit requests to the contact below; we will respond in accordance with applicable law once effective for our operations.
10. CHILDREN
The Services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
Our website may link to third-party sites or services we do not control. This Policy does not apply to them. Review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. We will post the revised Policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy, except where your consent is required.
